Goumenissa
Not far from the border with Macedonia, Goumenissa is the home to Boutari’s northernmost grape-growing and winemaking estate. The high altitude of this region is ideal for the production of wines with fresh, clean fruity aromas and flavors. Winemaking tradition in Goumenissa has always been strong: in the 1980s, when Boutari first decided to build a state-of-the-art winery here, it partnered with the many small local producers in order to maintain the local character of the wines.
